The concept of immigration to Germany has come down through the ages and play a crucial role in shaping the economy of the country. Previously workers would be given a 5 year work permit, but with the German Immigration Act of 2005, highly qualified people are granted with the permission to work in Germany as well as permanent residence. Permissions from the German Employment Agency are a must in the first place, after which workers can plan their immigration to Germany. The advantage of this new rule is that the family of such workers with a valid visa can also work in the same country. This also applies to those family members who join in later. It is the German IT industry which attracts workers from all parts of the word.
