German Fashion

Home to brand names like Hugo Boss and Willy Bogners, Germany has become the most important fashion hubs in Europe. The fast paced life and the crave for looking smart and elegant at office, parties or at a concert has become the inspiration of the day. With the money flowing in and the changing lifestyle, the number of fashion buffs have considerably increased.

The fashion parade in the world is ruled by products and brands that have sparked a huge uproar in the fashion industry. The German fashion is a healthy blend of the modern, with a romantic interspersion of the classical styles. Some of the most revered fashion brands have Germans like Gabriele Stehle, who was the founder of Strenesse; Wolfgang and Margaretha Ley, the founders of Escada. Large Italian fashion houses like Chanel and Fendi have associations with German designers like Karl Lagerfeld. The Jil Sander, Heidemarie Jiline Sander couple has put the fashion industry at its apex with designer brands like Chanel and Armani.

Unlike France and Italy, the German fashion industry is still to gain prominence, but the upcoming designers and models promise of a revolutionary trend in the industry with indigenous and exclusive collections. The difference has already started occurring in the fashion export and import statistics, where Germany is the biggest importer and the exporter of fashion goods.

One of the most important trade fairs in the country-The Collections Premiers Düsseldorf or the CPD is considered to be the world's leading trade fair in fashion. Known for its spring, summer and winter collections, it has become the center of attraction for the world's biggest fashion buffs. Held in the region of the North Rhine-Westphalian capital, the fair is organized twice a year. Other such fairs are the trade fairs CPD Body & Beach, housing lingerie and beachwear collections and the CPD Fabrics. Apart from these, the Herrenmode-Woche or the Men’s Fashion Week , held in Cologne and the Internationale Modetage or the International Fashion Days, held in Berlin have become telltales of the global fashion market.
