The city of Frankfurt or Frankfurt am Main is one of the most beautiful German cities, displaying a plethora of contradictions. When there are museums and buildings of historical significance on the one hand, on the other there are modern hubs too proclaiming the scientific and industrial advancement in the city. Some of the major trade fairs of International stature are being hosted by the city. Some of them are the International Motor Show or the IAA and the International Book Fair.

Frankfurt Weather

With a pleasant climate, the Frankfurt Weather conditions vary throughout the year. The climatic condition between the month of May and October is mild. The comfort level is regulated by mild rainfall. Temperatures tend to loom high during the month of July and August. The temperature ranges from 50 to 90 degree Fahrenheit in these months and the winter temperatures range from 15 to 40 degree Fahrenheit, accompanied by frequent rainfall.

Frankfurt Skyarena

The Frankfurt Skyarena seem to hold the major tourist attraction in Germany. Whether it is a football celebration or any carnival or festival, the Frankfurt Skyarena is the best podium to display it all. A group of nine multi-storied buildings form the skyarena in Frankfurt.

Places to see in Frankfurt

Harboring some of the most important historical monuments, the city of Frankfurt, Germany has proved to be the ultimate resort for anthropologists and historians. Some of the best places to see in Frankfurt are:

The exotic view of the city from the maintower on the bank of the river Main is rather formidable. The 200 meter high viewing platform offers a view as far as the Taunus hills and the beauty is mesmerizing, particularly at sunset.

The Romerberg square and "Römer" town hall: Still the residence of the present mayor of Frankfurt, this town hall is exemplary of the artistic exuberance of the bygone years. Built in 1986, this structure strikes a beauty with its half-timbered get up. It also housed the first bank of Frankfurt, which was built in the 17th century. The building at the corner of the square that housed it was called the Grosser Engel.

St. Paul's Church: The national symbol for democracy and freedom in Germany, this church built between 1789 and 1833, was the office of the first German National Assembly. The clauses and the articles proposed by the assembly is the basis of the present German Constitution. Post World War II, the church is no more used for congregational purpose but is the office of democracy.

The Fulda Gap

Having a stature of historical importance, the Fulda Gap is actually the low-lying area between the East German border and the city of Frankfurt. A tool of strategic attack against the West German allies, this gap proved to be the best resort for the Soviet Union to emerge victorious in the cold war. The Fulda Gap is the most often-visited tourist destination in Frankfurt.
