The Volkswagen plant at Wolfsburg is said to be the world's largest car plant. The brand sales records state that in 2006, 3.39 million units of Volkswagen were sold. The history of Volkswagen is pretty interesting as the brand is said to have been initiated due to Adolf Hitler. In 1924, during his imprisonment he was greatly affected the story of Henry Ford. The car was named Volkswagen, meaning "People's car", as Hitler dreamed that each German family could be able to own the car.
